Loops is now on Google Play
Loops is officially live on the Google Play Store.
To everyone on Android who's been waiting, thank you for sticking around. You've been asking for this since day one, sideloading builds, poking me in replies, reminding me you exist. I heard you the whole time. So here it is. Go download it.
Getting here took work, and we didn't slow down to do it. Since the iOS launch we've kept shipping. Playlists landed, so you can group videos and actually curate what you watch instead of leaving everything in one big pile. Starter Kits landed too, which make it way easier for new people to find creators worth following and walk into a feed they care about from the very first day. You can now hide all AI content in Feed Settings. That's on top of everything else that's been quietly going out week after week.
I'm not going to pretend any of this is easy. Building a federated video platform out in the open, with no venture capital and no shareholders to answer to, is hard. But it's ours, it stays ours, and that's the entire point of doing it this way.
The Android app is fast and it feels good to use, same as iOS. No tracking, no algorithm built to keep you scrolling until 3am, no quietly selling your data behind your back. Just videos, real people, and a platform that respects you instead of mining you.
If you want to see where this is all headed next, the full roadmap lives on our website at joinloops.org.
Huge thanks to everyone testing, filing bugs, and believing in this. iOS, Android, web, doesn't matter, you're the reason Loops exists at all. None of this happens without you.
So go grab it on the Play Store and tell me what you think.
And if you want to help keep Loops independent, consider joining our Patreon or one of the other platforms to help support our work. Every bit goes straight into staying free of ads and free of investors, and into building the features that matter to you instead of advertisers.
